In Syria, following massacres where nearly 1,000 civilians, mostly Alawites, were killed, interim President Ahmad Al-Charaa pledged to prosecute those responsible and form an independent investigation. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (OSDH) attributed the killings to security forces and allied groups. Violence was triggered by an attack by pro-Assad supporters, prompting authorities to send reinforcements to affected provinces. The Kurdish administration condemned the violence, while Israel urged Europe to cease legitimizing the Syrian transitional power.
